Updating for Add-on Apps

Allows you to automatically or manually update add-on applications and certificates.

Machine Settings

Log in to Administrator Mode and set as follows.

  • [Port Status]: [Enabled]

  • [Port Number]: 80

[Plug-in Settings]

> [Device] > [System Settings] > [Plug-in Settings]

  • [Embedded Plug-ins]: Enabled

Setting Automatic Updating

  1. Log in to Administrator Mode.
  2. Tap on [Updating for Add-on Apps].
  3. Tap on [Update settings].
  4. For each importance level for updates (A), set the update method (B).

    Note

    • When operating with the fixed version of add-on applications, set all importance levels to [Day of week].

    • If the updated content of Updatings for Add-on Application includes additional functions or changes, the settings and functions may be affected.

    • The schedule at which automatic updating is executed differs for each multifunction device serial number. If you update the add-on applications of multiple multifunction devices at the same time, execute manual updating.

    (A) Importance levels for updates

    Description

    [Important updates]

    Important updates we wish all customers to apply as security measures and to ensure stable operation.

    [Normal maintenance]

    Updates for updating to a stable version including additions and changes to functionality.

    [Enable auto update]

    Updates for updating to a stable version by improving functionality.

    (B) Update methods

    Item

    Description

    [Delayed NN day]

    Performs updating when a new version is confirmed at the time and days of the week specified for automatic updating.

    [Day of week]

    To perform an update, you need to execute [Manual update].

  5. Set the details for automatic updating.

    Item

    [Mon]

    Select the day of the week to perform automatic updating.

    [Retry settings]

    Specify the time to start automatic updating.

    Note

    • This setting cannot be changed individually for each importance level.

    • If the machine is not powered on, updating will be performed on the next update day.

    [N times]

    Set retry operations for when updating has failed.

    Note

    • This setting cannot be changed individually for each importance level for updates.

    • Update will fail, if you are operating the machine, if you are running a job, or if there are other errors.

    • If you set [Hours (0-23)], the retry operation ends when the specified time has elapsed.

Checking the Result of Automatic Updating

  1. Log in to Administrator Mode.
  2. Tap on [Updating for Add-on Apps].
  3. Tap on [Latest result].

    The result of the of the automatic updating appears.

Updating Add-on Applications Manually

  1. Log in to Administrator Mode.
  2. Tap on [Updating for Add-on Apps].
  3. Tap on [Manual update].
  4. Tap on the add-on application or system application to be updated, and tap on [Update].

    Note

    • System application may contain multiple applications and certificates, but they cannot be updated individually.

      For stable operation of the machine, please update if the system application is displayed.

    • If you select [Updating for Add-on Apps] and other applications together from the manual update screen and update, the other applications may not be updated. In this case, please update manually again.
