[Advanced] Tab

Enables you to change advanced document settings, such as the print quality and the paper to use.

[Document Options]

[Specify Font]

Configures the method for printing with TrueType fonts.

[Settings]

Click it to display the [Specify Font] screen.

[Paper/Output]

[Skip Blank Pages]

Enables you to skip blank pages when printing documents that include blank pages.

[Skip Blank Pages for 2 Sided Printing]

Enables you to not skip blank pages when performing two-sided printing with [Skip Blank Pages] set to [On].

[Apply Zoom to Application]

Changes the range printed on one page by having the printer notify the application of the scale to use.

The scale is specified on the [Setup] screen.

[Change Paper Information Handling]

Configures the method for handling the paper size between the application and printer.

  • This is available when [Paper Size] is set to something other than [Custom Paper Size] on the [Basic] tab.
  • This function is disabled when [Paper Size] is set to [Custom Paper Size] on the [Basic] tab.

[Error Report]

Select [On] to print an error report.

[Display Oversized Paper]

Configures whether to display paper sizes that exceed the printable range of the device in the paper size options and the paper sizes selectable from the application.

[Match Image Orientation for Mixed Size Output]

Rotates the corresponding pages to ensure that the pages are not output upside-down when performing mixed size output.

[Output Size When Original Size Exceeds A3]

Configures the paper size that the device outputs when printing of a document that exceeds A3 size is specified in the application.

[Tray / Output]

[Paper Tray Selection Method]

Specifies the method for selecting the paper tray when printing documents from some applications.

[Banner Sheet]

Configures the banner sheet settings.

[Substitute Tray]

Configures the driver operation to perform when the desired paper size runs out while printing with [Paper Tray] set to [Auto] on the [Tray / Output] tab.

[Image Options]

[Resolution]

Configures the resolution that the printer notifies the system and application of.

  • The resolution of the device cannot be changed.
  • [1200dpi] can only be selected when [Image Quality] is set to [High Resolution] on the [Image Options] tab. This cannot be configured when [A1], [A2], or a document size that exceeds 550.00 mm is set on the [Paper/Output] screen.

[Print Processing]

[Print Page Mode]

If you select [On], you can change the method for printing with the printer. Try selecting this when the size of the print data is too large or when a print job that is sent is not output.

  • It is available when the following conditions are met.
[Image Compression]

Compresses the data of images such as photos in the document before printing. To perform compression, select [Standard] or [Photo].

[High Speed Image Processing]

Select [On] to speed up the image processing in the document and shorten the print time.

[NumColor Value]

Configures the number of colors that the printer notifies the system and application of. [16] is normally selected, but try selecting [16777215] if JPEG images are printed too densely.

[Support PASSTHROUGH]

This function enables support for the PASSTHROUGH command of PCL. It is set to [Off] by default.

[Color]

[Halftone Print]

Select [On] to print shaded images as black gradations. This enables you to avoid printing that emphasizes the filled in areas of the graphics. However, the effect may not be apparent in some applications. This function applies to the entire document.

  • It is available when [Output Color] is set to [Black and White] on the [Basic] tab or [Image Options] tab.
  • [Print Using Application Specified Color] must also be set to [Off].
[Gray Guaranteed True Gray Graphics]

Configures whether to print the uncolored parts of gray documents using only K (black) toner or using a mix of CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) toner.

[Change All Colors to Black]

Prints all colors in black when printing a color document. This avoids misdetection of lines in faint colors. You can select [Text Only], [Graphics Only], or [Text and Graphics] as the objects to change.

[Bar code mode]

Prints barcode images clearly.

[Print as Gray]

Prints black areas as gray when printing a document in black and white.

  • This can be configured when [Output Color] is set to [Black and White]

[Drawing]

[Bitmap Smoothing]

Select [On] to change the resolution conversion of image data to smooth the image.

[Thicken Fine Lines]

Select [On] to print fine lines thicker.

[Intervals in dash / dot lines]

Adjusts the interval of dotted lines.

[Paint Only Enclosed Areas]

Select [On] to fill in graphics with clearly defined areas when printing. The areas are not filled in if the graphics areas are not enclosed or will become a single straight line.

[Draw the Pattern with the Resolution]

Configures the resolution to apply to the filled in areas.

[Image Enhancement]

Select [On] to smoothen the edges of the printed image.

  • This function is available when [Image Quality] is set to [Standard] or [High Resolution] on the [Image Options] tab.
[Drawing the Part of Overlapping Image]

When all or part of an image is not printed due to the application, you can use this function to change the process for rendering the overlapping areas of the image.

[Deskew]

[Adjust Clip Coordinate]

Adjusts the clip coordinates so that black lines do not appear when printing from certain applications.

[Other]

[Notify Job Completion by E-mail]

Configures whether to send e-mail notification when a print job is complete.

  • To use this function, the e-mail function must also be configured on the device side.

[Enter E-mail Address]

The [Notify Job Completion by E-mail] screen is displayed when [On] is selected for [Notify Job Completion by E-mail]. Enter the e-mail address on the displayed screen.

[Use Extended Features From Application]

If you select [On], you can use the print features of the application.

  • With the 64-bit version of the print tool, this cannot be used at the same time as [EMF Spooling] on the [Advanced] tab.
  • When printing from a 32-bit application using the 64-bit version of the print tool or printing from a certain application using the 32-bit version of the print tool, the concealed printing function cannot be used unless [EMF Spooling] is set to [On] in [Other] on the [Advanced] tab.

[Show Information Message]

Configures whether to display information in the list box when a selected item is incompatible with other settings and a warning message after that item is selected.

[Print Using Application Specified Color]

The color settings specified in the application are also reflected in the printer settings.

  • [Halftone Print] is not available when this function is set to [On].

[Prioritize Application Specified Color when Output Color is Black & White]

Enables you to switch from black and white printing to color printing when the [Print Using Application Specified Color] option is set to [On].

  • This function is available when the following conditions are met.

[EMF Spooling]

Configures the format for the print data to send to the device.

[About]

Click this to display the [About] screen.

[Default All]

Restores the default settings of the printer.
