Can I use DocuWorks Tray without DocuWorks?
DocuWorks is required to use DocuWorks Tray.
Which DocuWorks version can I use?
DocuWorks 8.0.5 or later is required to use DocuWorks Tray.
I entered the DocuWorks serial number at installation, but this failed.
Enter the serial number described in the license certificate of DocuWorks Tray.
Can I use DocuWorks Tray after uninstalling DocuWorks?
DocuWorks Tray is not available after DocuWorks has been uninstalled.
Link with multifunction device
I configured Stored File Manager 3 of Network Scanner Utility 3 to start up, but no documents were stored in a tray.
Use the following procedure to check the setting.
Procedure
1.
In the main window of Stored File Manager 3, select [Details] in the [File] menu.
2.
Select the [Save As] tab in the [Details] dialog box, and check that [Save Multiple Pages per File] is selected in [Save Options].
If [Save File for Each Page] is selected, DocuWorks Tray cannot convert an image file to a DocuWorks document.
I want to establish a link with the multifunction device simply by logging into a PC.
If you have configured DocuWorks Tray to directly link to a multi-function machine, follow the operation below.
Procedure
1.
Right-click the management icon of the task tray.
2.
Select [Enable Automatic Startup When Logging on to Windows] for [Startup Settings] in the popup menu.
If you use Network Scanner Utility 3 for linking DocuWorks Tray and multifunction machine, follow the operation below.
Procedure
1.
Right-click on the tray management icon of a task tray.
2.
Select [Enable Automatic Startup When Logging on to Windows] from [Startup Settings] in the pop-up menu.
3.

Click [Start] on the Windows taskbar, and open [All Programs] > [FUJIFILM] > [Network Scanner Utility 3]. Then, right-click on [Stored File Manager 3], and select [Copy] in the pop-up menu.

Open Windows Startup and paste the shortcut you have copied.
Tray operations
I want to create a tray available only for specific users.
Assign access rights only to the users who are permitted to use the tray using the shared folder used as a document save location.
I want to distinguish a sending tray from a receiving tray.
For a sending tray, if the [Check for New Documents Automatically] check box is cleared in Tray Properties, a new document loaded by another user is not detected automatically.
For a receiving tray, select the [Check for New Documents Automatically] check box.
For a receiving tray, select the [Check for New Documents Automatically] check box.
I want to collectively create trays and use them among multiple client PCs.
Follow the procedure below.
Procedure
1.
Collectively create trays on any one client PC.
2.
Change properties of each tray to the appropriate settings.
When sharing trays among multiple client PCs, specify the refresh interval, taking into account the load to the file server.
3.

Distribute the tray file to each client PC.
5.
Import the trays on each client PC.
Tray files can be imported one by one, or collectively at a time.
Creating a tray
I want to change the "description" of a tray later on.
Right-click on the tray gadget to be changed, and select [Properties] in the pop-up menu to change the description.
You can also change tray properties in the [Tray View Settings] dialog box.

- Description of tray
- Tray color
- Auto Refresh enabled or disabled, and refresh interval
- Whether to make a copy of documents and whether to show or hide documents when or after they are retrieved
- Whether to refine the displayed documents with specific properties
- Whether to display a tray gadget when a tray is set on the Desk's Task Toolbar
The imported tray is not displayed.
Open the [Tray View Settings] dialog box. If the [Non-Displayed Trays] list contains a tray to be imported, select the tray, and click [Display]. If [Display] is disabled because the [Displayed Trays] list already contains 10 trays, select unrequired trays from the [Displayed Trays] list, and click [Do Not Display].
A tray cannot be displayed on the desktop.
Up to 10 tray gadgets can be displayed on the desktop for performance reasons. A new tray cannot be displayed on the desk if 10 tray gadgets are already displayed. Open the [Tray View Settings] dialog box, and move unrequired trays to the [Non-Displayed Trays] list. Then, move the trays to be displayed to the [Displayed Trays] list.
How can I create a tray file?
This can be done with the following methods:
- Right-click on a tray gadget, and select [Export] in the pop-up menu.
- Select a tray in the [Tray View Settings] dialog box, and click [Export Tray] in the [File] menu.
- When creating a new tray, click [Export] in the [Created Successfully] dialog box.
A message appears indicating that a tray file cannot be exported.
If a local folder is selected as the [Save Location] of the tray properties, a tray file cannot be exported for security reasons.
Tray gadget
Symbol "!" appeared on a tray gadget, and it resulted in an error.
Use the following procedure to check the error status.
- Right-click on a tray gadget, and select [Properties] in the pop-up menu. Check if there is the folder displayed in [Save Location] of Tray Properties.
- If the folder is found, check whether it can be accessed on Internet Explorer.
- If authentication of the shared folder is requested, enter the user name and password.
A tray gadget is not found on the desktop.
Use the following procedure to check the error status.
- Right-click on the tray management icon of a task tray, and select [Right Top] or [Left Top] from [Align Trays] in the pop-up menu.
- If a target tray gadget is not found after trays have been aligned, it may be registered in the Non-Displayed Trays list. Open the [Tray View Settings] dialog box, and check if the tray gadget is included in the [Non-Displayed Trays] list.
- If it is included in the [Non-Displayed Trays] list, select the tray, and click [Display].
"NEW" appeared on a tray gadget, but no new documents were found when the tray gadget was opened.
If other user or software exports a new document from the time a new notification is issued to the time a tray is opened, a difference may temporarily occur between the display of "NEW" and the contents of the tray. In general use, the latest status is applied when auto refresh is executed or [Refresh] is selected in the pop-up menu of a tray gadget.
A new document was found when a tray gadget including no documents was opened.
If another user or software imports a document from the time a tray contains no documents to the time the tray is opened, a difference may temporarily occur between the displayed number of documents and the contents of the tray. In general use, the latest status is applied when auto refresh is executed or [Refresh] is selected in the pop-up menu of a tray gadget.
When I exported a document from a tray and closed the tray window, the number of documents on a tray gadget increased.
If another user or software imports a document from the time a document is exported from a tray to the time exporting is completed, a difference may temporarily occur between the displayed number of documents and the contents of the tray. In general use, the latest status is applied when auto refresh is executed or [Refresh] is selected in the pop-up menu of a tray gadget.
I want to check documents in a tray.
You can open documents in the tray window. To open a document, right-click on a document and select [Open] or double-click a document you want to open. When a document is pointed by your mouse pointer with the <Ctrl> and <Shift> keys pressed together, the first page image of the document will appear.
Tray gadgets are hidden behind another window.
Right-click on a tray gadget, and select the [Display in Front] check box in the pop-up menu.
If necessary, right-click on the tray management icon on a task tray to temporarily display all tray gadgets in the foreground.

When an attempt is made to drag a file to a tray gadget, it is hidden behind the source window.

Is there a way for DocuWorks Desk not to start up when I double-click a tray gadget?
Right-click on the tray management icon on the task tray, and select [Tray Operation Settings] from [Options] in the pop-up menu. Clear the [Start DocuWorks Desk When a Tray Gadget is Double-clicked] check box in the [Tray Operation Settings] dialog box.
I do not want a tray gadget to be displayed on the Windows switch task screen displayed when I press the <Alt>+<Tab> keys.
Right-click on the tray management icon on the task tray, and select [Tray Operation Settings] from [Options] in the pop-up menu. In the [Tray Operation Settings] dialog box, clear the [Show the Tray Gadget on the Alt+Tab screen] check box.
Documents directly opened from a tray are hidden behind the tray window
Right-click on a tray gadget, and clear the [Display in Front] check box in the pop-up menu.
Documents are not moved
Close the pop-up menu, dialog box and window you open, and the documents will be moved.
Tray management icon
The symbol "!" appears on the tray management icon. Is there a problem?
The symbol "!" appears when at least one tray is erroneous. There is no problem in tray gadgets with no error. If all errors are resolved, the symbol "!" is cleared.
[Tray View Settings] dialog box
I cannot click [Display].
The possible reasons are as follows.
- No tray is selected in the [Non-Displayed Trays] list.
- The [Displayed Trays] list already contains 10 trays.
- If multiple trays are selected in the [Non-Displayed trays] list, the sum of the number of selected trays and the number of trays in the [Displayed Trays] list exceeds 10.
I cannot drag a tray file to the [Tray View Settings] dialog box.
You cannot drag a tray file to the [Tray View Settings] dialog box. Select [Import Tray] from the [File] menu in the [Tray View Settings] dialog box.
Also, you can double-click a tray file to import data.

I double-clicked a tray in the [Tray View Settings] dialog box, but could not open it.
The [Tray View Settings] dialog box is used to change tray settings; therefore, you cannot open a tray displayed in the list.
Troubleshooting
DocuWorks Tray does not start up.
Click [Start] on the Windows taskbar, and select [FUJIFILM DocuWorks] > [DocuWorks Tray] > [DocuWorks Tray].
Right-click on the tray management icon, and select conditions for starting DocuWorks Tray from [Startup Settings] in the pop-up menu. If [Disable Automatic Startup] is selected, DocuWorks Tray does not start up automatically.

Right-click on the tray management icon, and select [Disable Automatic Close] from [Close Settings] in the pop-up menu.
To manually close DocuWorks Tray, right-click on the tray management icon, and select [Exit] in the pop-up menu.

Can I check errors displayed in DocuWorks Tray later?
You can check errors in the message history of the DocuWorks operating environment display tool. Follow the procedure.below.
Procedure
1.
Click [Start] on the Windows taskbar, and select [FUJIFILM DocuWorks] > [DocuWorks Operating Environment Display Tool].
2.
Select the [Message history] tab.
The file is moved when I drag and drop a file to a tray even when the [Tray Operation Settings] is set to [Copy].
If a drag-and-drop operation was used from a tray window to another tray window or a tray gadget, the document is moved to the destination regardless of the setting in [Tray Operation Settings]. To copy a file, drag and drop the file while holding down the <Ctrl> key.
I used drag and drop to move a document from the tray window, but the operation failed and the original document cannot be found.
The file is saved under the "User Folder" on Desk.
