What is a New Document?
This section describes "new document" displayed in tray gadget, tray window, and [New Notification Screen] dialog box.
Definition of "new document"
The following documents are referred to as "new documents" in DocuWorks Tray.
When no documents are found in a tray during the last check, if any documents are found in the tray during the next browsing, they are assumed to be new documents. Whether a document is a new one is judged based on the file name and the date and time when the file was updated.
- Documents, that have the same file name and different update dates and times, are handled as new documents.
- If a new document is added while the tray window is opened, both documents newly loaded and documents added at opening of the tray window are assumed to be new documents.
- A document the user loaded into a tray is not handled as a new document.
New Document Notification
Each tray checks whether a new document is loaded at the refresh interval specified in Properties.
If a new document is detected, the following processing is performed.
- "NEW" appears on the tray management icon.
- The [New Notification Screen] dialog box opens from the tray management icon.
- A notification sound is output.
- The document graphic and number of documents are updated on the tray gadget, and the NEW icon appears.
To change whether to automatically open the [New Notification Screen] dialog box or output the notification sound, refer to "Configuring a New Document Notification".
Note
When the [Filter and Display Documents by Specific Attributes] check box in the [Tray Properties] dialog box is selected, you will only be notified of documents whose attributes match the conditions you set.
When a document is not handled as a new one:
If one of the following operations is performed, a document is not handled as a new one.
- When you click [Clear New Arrival] in the [New Notification Screen] dialog box, documents in all trays displayed in the [New Notification Screen] dialog box are not handled as new ones.
- If you open the tray gadget with the "NEW" icon displayed and close the tray window, documents included in the tray window are not handled as new ones.
Documents in other unopened trays are judged to be new documents.
