[Edge Erase / Print Position] Screen

This screen is displayed by clicking [Edge Erase / Print Position] on the [Tray / Output] tab.

[Edge Erase] Screen

This screen enables you to add binding edges to the edges of the paper.

[Edge Position]

Configure the print (binding edge) position.

  • When [Poster], [Booklet], or [Image Shift] is selected, [Edge Position] is automatically set to [No Shift].

[Auto-fit]

When this check box is selected, the document is automatically reduced to fit inside the print area that was made smaller by adding binding edges.

  • This function is disabled when a scale is specified in [Reduce/Enlarge] on the [Basic] tab.

[Side 1]

Configures the front side binding edges when performing two-sided printing.

[Side 2]

Configures the back side binding edges when performing two-sided printing.

[Units]

Configure the units for the binding edges.

[Print Position] Screen

This screen enables you to configure the print position of the paper.

Configure these settings when enlarging or reducing the document or printing on a mix of different paper sizes.

[Bias Image Toward]

Configure the print position.

[No Shift]/[Image Shift]

Configures whether to adjust the print position. When [Image Shift] is set, specify the left, right, top, and bottom print positions.

  • When [Booklet] is selected or [Edge Position] is set to something other than [No Shift], [No Shift] and [Image Shift] cannot be selected.

[Print Margins] Screen

Specifies the margins of each paper size that can be selected when printing.

[Enable User Defined Margins]

Select this check box to specify margins.

  • If [For Each Paper Size] is not selected, the margin settings specified here are applied to all paper sizes.

[For Each Paper Size]

Select this to specify margins for each paper size.

[Define Margins for]

Select the paper sizes to specify margins for from the list box.

  • When [Other Sizes] is selected, the box below is disabled and the paper size cannot be selected.

[Paper Size]

Select the paper size to register in [For Each Paper Size].

  • When [Other Sizes] is selected in [For Each Paper Size] above [Paper Size], you cannot select the paper size from the [Paper Size] combo box.

[Left]/[Right]/[Top]/[Bottom]

Specify the left, right, top, and bottom margins.

[Units]

Configure the units to use when specifying setting values.

[Margins] Screen

This screen enables you to configure the print area of the paper.

You can check the selected settings in the preview image on the left.

[Standard]

Sets the print area as the area where the document image is guaranteed to be printed from edge to edge.

[None]

Sets the print area as the entire surface of the paper. However, the document image will not be printed up to the very edge of the paper, due to device limitations.
