Changing or Removing the Security Settings
You can change the passwords or operational restrictions or remove the security settings you have previously specified as follows. When you want to change the security module to use for configuring the security settings, you must first remove the settings, then set new settings.
Changing or removing the settings of the password-protected security
With Desk
Change the workspace to the thumbnail view before you perform the following procedure.
Also, display the thumbnail of the relevant protected document before you change the security settings.

Procedure
1.
In Desk, select a document protected by a password, select [Security] from the [Document] menu, then select [Security Settings].
The [Password] dialog box appears.
If the open password is not stored, you are prompted to enter it.

Enter the appropriate password in [Full access password], then click [OK].
The [Security Settings - Password (256bit V8 or later/128bit V5 or later/56bit V4 or later)] dialog box appears. The dialog box shows the current security settings.
3.
Change the settings as necessary, then click [Set]. To remove the security, click [Delete].
If you have changed the password, the [Password Confirmation] dialog box appears.
4.
Enter the password you specified again.
If you have changed the open password, specify whether to temporarily store it, then click [OK].

The security settings are changed as specified. The thumbnail of the protected document is still displayed. If you don't want to show the thumbnail, close Desk, then reopen it. The thumbnail will not be displayed (a padlock mark will be displayed on the page).
If you have selected [Store new open password temporarily], DWSPswd starts and a corresponding icon appears in the notification area on the right side of the task bar.

With Viewer
Perform the following procedure in full access mode:
Procedure
1.
Open a document protected by a password, select [Security] from the [Document] menu, then select [Security Settings].
[Security Settings - Password (256bit V8 or later/128bit V5 or later/56bit V4 or later)] dialog box appears. The dialog box shows the current security settings.
2.
Change the settings as necessary, then click [Set]. To remove the security, click [Delete].
If you have changed the password, the [Password Confirmation] dialog box appears.
3.
Enter the password you specified again.
If you have changed the open password, specify whether to temporarily store it, then click [OK].

The security settings you specified are reflected when the document is saved.

Note
Settings made in Viewer are reflected when the document is saved. If you close the document without saving it, the security settings are not reflected.
Changing or removing the settings of the Electronic Signature-protected security
Perform the following procedure in full access mode:
Procedure
1.
In Desk, select a document protected by an Electronic Signature and display its thumbnail.
In Viewer, open a document protected by an Electronic Signature and enter full access mode.
In Viewer, open a document protected by an Electronic Signature and enter full access mode.
2.
Select [Security] from the [Document] menu, then select [Security Settings].
The [Security Settings - Digital Certificate (256bit V8 or later/128bit V5 or later)] dialog box appears. The dialog box shows the current security settings.
3.
Specify the settings as necessary, then click [Set].
To add the Electronic Signature to [Signature capable of opening the document] or to [Signature capable of entering full access mode], click [Add]. To delete, select the Electronic Signature you want to delete from the list, then click [Delete]. To delete all Electronic Signatures at once, click [Delete All].
To remove the security, click [Delete].

To delete, select the Electronic Signature you want to delete from the list, then click [Delete]. To delete all Electronic Signatures at once, click [Delete All].
To remove the security, click [Delete].
Changing or removing the settings of the Digital Certificate-protected security
Perform the following procedure in full access mode:
Procedure
1.
In Desk, select a document protected by a Digital Certificate and display its thumbnail.
In Viewer, open a document protected by a Digital Certificate and enter full access mode.
In Viewer, open a document protected by a Digital Certificate and enter full access mode.
2.
Select [Security] from the [Document] menu, then select [Security Settings].
The [Security Settings (Digital Certificate)] dialog box appears. The dialog box shows the current security settings.
3.
Change the settings as necessary, then click [Set]. To delete a certificate from [Certificate capable of opening the document] or from [Certificate capable of entering full access mode], select the certificate you want to delete, then click [Delete]. To remove the security, click [Delete].
Check marks (X) are displayed next to invalid certificates such as those that have expired or have been revoked. Select invalid certificates, then click [Delete].
Note
Settings made in Viewer are reflected when the document is saved. If you close the document without saving it, the security settings are not reflected.
