About DocuWorks Electronic Signature

This topic provides the overview of DocuWorks Electronic Signature. DocuWorks Electronic Signature is one of the signature modules provided by DocuWorks. You can use the Electronic Signatures stored in an Electronic Signature Case to sign documents.

Configuration of a DocuWorks Electronic Signature

Electronic Signature

You can use an Electronic Signature to attach an Electronic Signature-impression on a DocuWorks document page in the same way you would put an Electronic Signature on a paper document. You can specify a bitmap to use as the Electronic Signature-impression image.
An Electronic Signature-impression attached to a page stores information such as the name of the signature module, name of the Electronic Signature, name of the owner, date and time it was attached, expiration date, and data to be used for verification.

Electronic Signature Case

An Electronic Signature is stored in an Electronic Signature Case. You need a password to open an Electronic Signature Case. Each Electronic Signature Case is divided into 2 sections: one for storing My Electronic Signatures and the other for storing Trusted Electronic Signatures.

My (Electronic) Signature

My Electronic Signature is used to sign your document. It is necessary to open the document protected by Electronic Signature.

Trusted Electronic Signature

You use Trusted Electronic Signatures to verify Electronic Signatures attached on documents. They are also used when you configure the security based on Electronic Signatures.

Proof Information of Electronic Signature

Proof information is a DocuWorks document that contains information such as the impression image, owner's name and expiration date of an Electronic Signature. It is used to have others add your My Electronic Signature to their Electronic Signature Cases as their Trusted Signatures.
