Reducing Noise from Pages

In the current page in document view and the current page of an active view in split document view, you can reduce noise from pages that were created from monochrome images. The term "noise" refers to the black spots found on scanned monochrome images or in the background of color documents that were scanned as monochrome documents. By reducing noise, you can make the documents clearer.

Features of the noise reduction

The features of noise reduction are described below:
  • By reducing noise, you can improve the OCR recognition rate.
  • By reducing noise, you can reduce document size.
  • Fine black and white images like lines and shaded areas may be erased by noise reduction.

Generally, execute [Normal] once, then check the result with your eyes. If this erases any part of the image needed, select [Undo] from the [Edit] menu, then execute [Low]. If noise reduction was not sufficient, re-execute [Normal] or [High].
