Converting Documents to Image Files
This topic describes how to convert displayed documents or binders into image files.
There are 4 types of image file formats into which DocuWorks files can be converted.
- BMP
- JPEG
- TIFF
Note
For a binder, you can convert all the documents in the binder into image files at once. If you select multi-page TIFF as the import format, an image file is created for each document in the binder.
You can also convert DocuWorks files into image files by using the image converter plug-in in Desk.
You can also convert DocuWorks files into image files by using the image converter plug-in in Desk.
Procedure
1.
Select [Image Converter] from the [File] menu.
The [Image Converter] dialog box appears.
2.
Select the desired options and click [OK].
If the document includes annotations, they are also converted. However, parts of annotations that extend beyond the edges of the document or notepad annotation are not converted. Also, annotations are not converted if they are hidden.
Important
- The remaining time indicated in the [Executing] dialog box is only an estimate, and may not be accurate.
- After clicking [Cancel], allow some time for the conversion process to stop.
- Depending on the size of the intermediate file created during the process, the conversion may fail, or you may encounter a message indicating that the process can take some time.
Also, if you are creating a large image file, you should have freed hard disk space that is at least 2 to 3 times the size of the file being created. - If you select [G4] from [Compression] in the [TIFF Setting] dialog box, only monochrome conversion can be performed. If you select this option for a color conversion (when [Color] is selected in the [Image Converter] dialog box), an error message appears and the conversion is not performed.
- If you select [Multiple Pages in One File] in the [TIFF Setting] dialog box, the document may not be converted due to its large file size. In this case, specify to create an image file for each page (clear [Multiple Pages in One File]).
