[DocuWorks Desk Options] - [View] [Preferences] dialog box

Specify how to display the screen such as list view and operation to open a folder.

[File icon view]

[Display subfolders]

Displays folders as icons in the workspace.
By default, this box is cleared.

[Show files other than DocuWorks files]

Displays as icons the files other than DocuWorks files in the workspace.
Also displays shortcuts of DocuWorks documents or binders in thumbnail view not as shortcut file icons. But hidden files do not appear.
By default, this box is selected.
When [Display specified types as thumbnails] is selected, displays the files whose type is specified in [Specify the File Type] dialog box in thumbnail view.

[Display specified types as thumbnails]

This check box become effective when [Show files other than DocuWorks files] is selected. Displays the files whose type is specified in the [Specify the File Type] dialog box in thumbnail view.
By default, this box is selected.

[File type]

Displays the [Specify the File Type] dialog box, in which you can select file types displayed in thumbnail.

[DocuWorks file view setting]

[Show document in thumbnail view, protected by password but without password to open]

Displays in thumbnail view the protected documents on which an open password is not specified.
By default, this box is cleared.

[Display item in List View]

Specify items appearing on the columns in list view.

[Setting Columns]

Displays the [Setting Columns] dialog box, in which you can select display items in list view.

[Show thumbnails and icons while dragging]

When you drag a document, the document that is being dragged appears transparent.
This box is selected by default.

[Large size (page with the long edge exceeding 500mm)]

Specify whether a large-sized page (long side of page is longer than 500 mm) thumbnail is displayed by same size or it reduces to A3.
The default is [Display in thumbnail view reduced to A3].
Note
When [Display in thumbnail view reduced to A3] is selected, an icon indicating the paper size appears in the lower left corner of the thumbnail.

[Thumbnail Appearance Change]

[Change appearance of document which is not updated for a certain time]

When this check box is selected, thumbnails for files that have not been updated for a short period appear in yellowed color, and those not updated for a long period appear in sepia-toned color.
By default, this check box is cleared.
The new setting becomes effective the next time you start Desk.
This function is effective for files that can be displayed as thumbnails in Desk.
  • [Short term (Yellow)]
    When this check box is selected, thumbnails for files that have not been updated for the number of days specified here or longer appear in yellowed color.
    The default is [7] days.
  • [Long term (Sepia)]
    When this check box is selected, thumbnails for files that have not been updated for the number of days specified here or longer appear in sepia-toned color.
    The default is [30] days.

[Warning message]

[Reset]

Restore the message that has been inactive because the [Do not show this message again] check box has been selected.

[Thumbnail Magnification]

Placing the mouse pointer over a thumbnail for a DocuWorks file and then pressing the <Ctrl> key while pressing the <Shift> key enlarges the thumbnail. You can use this option to select the magnification ratio to be applied to that enlarged view.
The default setting is [Medium].

[Momentum Scrolling]

Gives the effect of movement as if inertia is working on a smooth surface, while you scroll the workspace area in the thumbnail view.
By default, this check box is selected.
Your changes will take effect the next time you start Desk.

[Reverse zoom behavior with mouse wheel movement]

Set the direction in which to scroll the mouse wheel when zooming in and out on thumbnails and pages.
  • When this check box is cleared
    Scrolling the mouse wheel towards you zooms in.
    Scrolling away zooms out.
  • When this check box is selected
    Scrolling the mouse wheel towards you zooms out.
    Scrolling away zooms in.
By default, this box is selected.
The new setting becomes effective the next time you start Desk.
Note
This setting works in conjunction with the setting for [Reverse zoom behavior with mouse wheel movement] in [View] under [DocuWorks Viewer Settings] in the [Preferences] dialog box.

[Enable Arrange Folder Tree]

Selecting this check box allows you to sort folders in the Folder area. Folders located under [User Folder] or [Link Folder] can be sorted.
By default, this box is cleared.
The new setting becomes effective the next time you start Desk.

[Do Not Shade Thumbnail of DocuWorks File in Use]

Selecting the check box does not shade the thumbnail of DocuWorks files while they are in use.
When the thumbnails are not shaded, the display speed of thumbnails is improved but the appearance of the thumbnails in use is the same as the ones not in use.
By default, this box is cleared.

[Expand Height for Folder and Workspace (List View Only)]

Selecting the check box expand the spaces between lists in the workspace and folders.
By default, this box is cleared.
The new setting becomes effective the next time you start Desk.

[Mark the last Task Toolbar button that was pressed]

When this check box is selected, for each of the tabs on Task Toolbar, the last pressed button is marked.
By default, this check box is selected.
The new setting becomes effective the next time you start Desk.
Note
If you clear this box, all marks will be cleared the next time you start Desk.
