Operating a Link Folder
This topic describes how to use link folders to utilize folders other than user folders (such as network folders) as Desk folders.
Connecting link
You can create a link using either of the following methods:

If the link destination is a network folder, assign the network drive. You cannot specify it with the UNC path.
Selecting [New Link] from the [File] menu
Procedure
1.
Select [New Link] from the [File] menu.
The [Folder Property] dialog box appears.
2.
Specify the path of the link target folder, then click [OK]. You can also click [Browse] to display the [Browse for Folder] dialog box and select the appropriate path.
The link is created and the corresponding link root folder appears in the folder area.


Dragging-and-dropping a folder to the folder area
Procedure
1.
Drag-and-drop the link target folder from the Windows Explorer or another application to the folder area of Desk.
The corresponding link root folder is created and the [Folder Property] dialog box appears.
2.
The path of the folder to be dragged is displayed in [Location]. Change it if necessary, and click [OK].
The link is created and the corresponding link root folder appears.
Changing/removing the link
You can change the property of the linked root folder, or remove the link.
How to change the link
Even after setting the linked root folder, you can display the property, and change the icon colors and the path of the link destination.
Procedure
1.
Select the linked root folder, and then select [Properties] of the [File] menu.
The [Folder Property] dialog box is displayed.
2.
Set each item and click [OK].
How to remove the link
Procedure
1.
Select [Disconnect Link] from the [File] menu.
The [Disconnect Link] dialog box appears.
2.
Select the link you want to disconnect, then click [OK].
The corresponding link root folder is removed from the folder area.
How to log in to the link destination
Procedure
1.
If you try to open the folder of the link destination where you are not logged in, the [Entry of Network Password] dialog box is displayed.
2.
Enter the user name and password, and click [OK].
How to move/remove the folder of the link destination
Procedure
1.
Select the link definition folder, and drag-and-drop it to the destination folder.
If removing it, select [Delete] of the [Edit] menu.
If removing it, select [Delete] of the [Edit] menu.
A confirmation message is displayed.
Important
You cannot undo the operations of moving or removing the link definition folder.
