[Editing the CSV File]
The CSV file you exported from Internet Services can be edited.
Prerequisites for Editing
- When using Microsoft® Excel® to edit the file, your Microsoft Excel must support UTF-8 encoding. Microsoft Excel 2016 Version 1610 (Build 7466.2038) or 16.0.7466.2038 or later supports this encoding.
- You must save the edited CSV file in the [CSV UTF-8 (Comma Delimited) (*.CSV)] format. If you don't find this item for your Microsoft Excel file as Save Format, the file is not in the UTF-8 encoding, and thus you cannot edit it.
- Before starting editing, we recommend you save a copy of the original CSV file you exported.
- Fax numbers or IP fax numbers are enclosed with square brackets []; take care so that no zero (0) is omitted when modifying them. Make sure you use the brackets [] to enclose the values so that no zero (0) is missing.
Important
- You import the edited CSV file at your own risk. Any unintended errors in the edited file can cause inadvertent sending. In addition to taking particular care while editing the file, once you have imported it, make sure to check that the edits are correct.
- Do not edit the header in the first row of the CSV file. Otherwise, import will fail. Leave it unchanged once the file has been exported.
Note
- Do not edit group addresses on CSV. Make sure to edit groups on Internet Services. If you edit a group address on CSV, the group it belongs to might be changed or it might be excluded from the current group, and this can cause inadvertent sending.
- SMB/FTP/SFTP login passwords are encrypted. If you need to edit them, first delete them, and you can enter any text string.
