Protocol Settings - TCP/IP
This page allows you to configure the printer's IP mode, host name, IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, DNS domain name, DNS server address, and WINS server address. The methods for obtaining these addresses can be selected under [Get IP Address], [Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically], and [Get WINS Server Address].
When setting the IP address, verify the contents of the settings with your network administrator.
The addresses for [Machine IP Address], [Subnet Mask] and [Gateway Address] must exist.
The following settings will become active after rebooting the printer from CentreWare Internet Services or manually switching it off and then on again.
Turning off your printer will clear the data in the main memory but not the one stored in the optional device memory, if installed.
IP Mode
Select the IP mode from the following:
- [IPv4]
Select [IPv4] to enable the IPv4 mode.
- [IPv6]
Select [IPv6] to enable the IPv6 mode.

Machine IP Address
Enter the IP address allocated to the printer in the format of "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" .
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 255.
Subnet Mask

The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "ddd" cannot be 255.
If each arbitrary bit becomes 1, "1" must continue from the upper bit.
Gateway Address
Enter the gateway address in the format of "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" .
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 255.
IPv6
Use this field to configure the IPv6 address.
The [IPv6] field appears only if [IPv6] or [Dual Stack] is selected for [IP Mode].
Enable Manual Address
Select the [Enabled] check box to enable manual setting of the IPv6 address.
Obtaining of auto-set address is still performed even when [Enable Manual Address] is enabled.
Get IP Address from DHCP
Select the [Enabled] check box to obtain the IP address and gateway address via DHCP.
When this is enabled, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.
IP Address
Specify the IP address and prefix length allocated to the printer.
Enter the IP address in the format of "aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee:ffff:gggg:hhhh".
Each IP address field (xxxx) should be a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffff. Except the first field, zeros can be omitted.
(For example, "2001:db8::1" is equal to "2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001".)
Enter the prefix length within the range of 1 to 128. Normally, set this to 64.
Stateless Address 1-3
Displays Stateless addresses assigned by the IPv6 router connected to the network.
Link-Local Address
This field shows a link-local address.
Gateway Address
Enter the gateway address in the format of "aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee:ffff:gggg:hhhh".
Each address field (xxxx) should be a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffff. Except for the first field, zeros can be omitted. For example, "2001:db8::1" is equal to "2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001".)
Automatically Configured Gateway Address
This field shows a gateway address assigned by the IPv6 router connected to the network.
DNS
Set the following items if using DNS.
DNS Domain Name
Enter the domain name within 255 bytes. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters, periods (.), and hyphens (-).
IPv4
Configure the [IPv4] options if the IPv4 mode is selected.
The [IPv4] field appears only if [IPv4] or [Dual Stack] is selected for [IP Mode].
Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically
Select the [Enabled] check box when automatically setting the DNS server address using DHCP. When you select this check box, the addresses you entered in the following items will be ignored.
If you set the DNS server address to DHCP, the IP address must also be set to DHCP.
