This page allows you to configure printer settings for enabling IPsec communications between the printer and client computers.
If you send data from a computer to the printer via the IPsec protocol, all data packets are encrypted.
This setting is not available if your computer does not support IPsec.
The following settings will become active after rebooting the printer from CentreWare Internet Services or manually switching it off and then on again.
Turning off your printer will clear the data in the main memory but not the one stored in the optional device memory, if installed.
Protocol
Select the [Enabled] check box to use the IPsec protocol.
IKE Authentication Method
[Preshared Key] is displayed as the IKE authentication method.
If the optional device memory is installed and Data Encryption is enabled on the printer, [Digital Signature] can be selected.
Shared Key
Specify a preshared key. Delete all the circles, and then enter the preshared key within 255 bytes using alphanumeric characters and symbols.
The preshared key is displayed in circles (●), regardless of whether it has already been set or not.
To enter a preshared key, delete all the circles and then enter the preshared key. A null, space or comma cannot be used.
The asterisks (*) may be displayed instead of circles.
Verify Shared Key
Delete all the circles, and then re-enter the same preshared key for verification.
Device Certificate
The message "The Device Certificate becomes effective when a Digital Signature is chosen with an IKE.
This certificate is set up on the Certificate Management page." is displayed.
This item appears only if the optional device memory is installed and Data Encryption is enabled on the printer.
IKE SA Lifetime
Specify the IKE SA lifetime (in minutes) within the range of 5 to 28,800 minutes.
The IKE SA Lifetime must be the same or longer than IPsec SA Lifetime.
IPsec SA Lifetime
Specify the IPsec SA lifetime (in minutes) within the range of 5 to 2,880 minutes.
The IPsec SA Lifetime must be the same or shorter than the IKE SA Lifetime.
DH Group
Select a DH group from [G1] and [G2].
PFS
To enable PFS, select the [Enabled] check box.
Specify Destination IPv4 Address
When using the printer in the IPv4 environment, enter the destination IPv4 address (IP address) in the IPv4 format.
The blocks are divided by periods or colons. Preceding zeros can be omitted as long as nothing else precedes them within the same block.
For example, "192.168.1.10" is equivalent to "192.168.001.010".
Specify Destination IPv6 Address
When using the printer in the IPv6 environment, enter the destination IPv6 address (IP address) in the IPv6 format.
The blocks are divided by periods or colons. Preceding zeros can be omitted as long as nothing else precedes them within the same block.
For example, "2001:db8::1" is equivalent to "2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001".
Communicate with Non-IPsec Device
Specify how to handle communications with devices that do not support IPsec. You can select [Bypass] or [Discard].
