Notes and Restrictions
This section describes notes and restrictions related to printing and how to handle them.
About service delivery
About service time
Service is available 24 hours 7 days, but may be stopped for maintenance once a month. In that case, we will announce it with “notification screen" minimum of 5 working days prior to it.
About internet connection
This service needs the Internet connection. When a problem occurs for communication with the FUJIFILM IWpro service, file uploading and the print operation are not possible.
About print reference number
The print reference number issued by FUJIFILM IWpro has 2 types which are for FUJIFILM IWpro and for netprint. You cannot use the print reference number for FUJIFILM IWpro to print with MFDs which are for Public Print service or installed in Seven-Eleven stores.
Notes and restrictions about tool for each client
FUJIFILM IWpro Print Tool
- FUJIFILM IWpro Print Tool for netprint/Public Print generates XPS file(*) in the client PC side and uploads XPS file. Therefore, restrictions about printing XPS file are applied.
- Printing by the Google Chrome always generates color file even if you choose "black and white". When you want to print it in black and white, please choose “black and white” on the panel of the multi-function device.
- When uploading an entire workbook of an Excel file with multiple sheets in the print tool, if the resolution and other settings are different for each sheet, a separate print job may be created for each sheet, and it may be necessary to send multiple times.
Universal Print
- Universal Print printers for this service do not have an N-up setting. If you specify and upload N-up images in the application settings, N-up images will be generated on the application side, but they will not be reflected in the "Pages per Side" setting of this service.
- The printer driver for Universal Print is manufactured by Microsoft Corporation, and the wording on the display may differ from the wording of this system.

Restrictions about printing method
- This service sends PDF, XPS, OXPS, DocuWorks file directly to multi-function device to print, as well as the [print] function in the Internet Services. Therefore, printing results are different from the native printer drivers due to the difference of the print instructions.
Restrictions about setting of the document file
Even if a file matches the supported file types and versions, you cannot upload it if any of the following settings are selected.

DocuWorks file
- A password is set.
- File editing is prohibited.
- Annotation editing is prohibited.
- Printing is prohibited.
- Copy is prohibited.

PDF file
- A Password is set.
- Printing is prohibited.

Word, Excel, PowerPoint file
- Encrypted with a password
- IRM (Information Rights Management) is set.

XPS(OXPS) file
- IRM (Information Rights Management) is set.
About font substitution
While printing DocuWorks file or PDF file which is not font embedded, fonts will be substituted by 4 Japanese fonts and 14 English fonts installed in the multi-function device. So file uploading fails when a font cannot be substituted.
Restrictions about PDF files
- PDF files which contain JPEG 2000 Picture format cannot be uploaded.
- The contents of all layers are printed, even if some layers are hidden from view.
- PDF files which contain animations, 3D graphics or interactive functions communicate with outside may not be supported.
- Annotations and stamps will not be printed.
- Due to compatibility with PDF conversion software, uploading fail, character missing or layout collapse may occur.
- While printing PDF files, the contents will be scaled to the size of the printable area of the paper.
Restrictions about XPS files
- Uploading XPS files whose file size is very big or structure is too complicated may rarely become error.
- Print tickets in the XPS file will not be printed.
- While printing XPS files, the contents will be scaled to the size of the printable area of the paper.
Restrictions about DocuWorks files
- Uploading DocuWorks files which are created by “DocuWorks Ver.4 document” and contain non-JIS standard characters or text may result in character corruption.
- Page sizes are determined without tag, so the tag area outside of the page will not be printed.
- Specification about whether annotations such as tags and stamps will be printed depends on the view state when DocuWorks file is saved.

Restrictions about Word, Excel, PowerPoint file conversion
When Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files are uploaded, these files will be converted to PDF files by using the third vendor’s library in the server. Due to specification of the library and restrictions of the font substitution, decoration probably cannot be duplicated and layout may also get messed. Typical restrictions are as below, though the conversion could be strange besides following descriptions. The PDF file converted can also be confirmed before printing by downloading from a web browser.
- Layout collapse and page-changing as a result of font substitution.
- Vertical writings, rubies, Japanese hyphenations.
- Shapes, shadow of control, 3D decorations or rotations.
- Filling by gradation or bitmap patterns.
- Page borders in Word documents.
Restrictions about PowerPoint files
- Only the “Slide” will be printed, notes and handouts will not be included.
Restrictions about Image files (JPEG or TIFF)
- Image files will always be scaled to A4 size before printing
- Colors and gradations will be different to expected results in some cases.
Notes and restrictions about printing
- Page number which can be confirmed from operation history may be different to the page number which was outputted exactly because printer will not show success/failure of the printing job and the output number.
- Files uploaded with the "Print Post Processing" as "Auto Delete After 15 Minutes" will be deleted after 15 minutes from the start of printing. If you start printing, the file will be deleted automatically even if you do not print it by canceling it in the middle.
- When printing with staple or hole punch, your print may be failed if the paper direction in the paper tray is not matched. Please try to change the paper direction and print again.

ApeosPort®-VI C7771 /C6671 / C5571 / C4471 / C3371 / C3370 / C2271
DocuCentre-VI C7771 / C6671 / C5571 / C4471 / C3371 / C3370 / C2271 - Perform printing with [Device] > [App Settings] > [Web Browser Setup] > [Use Cache] enabled in the device. If [Use Cache] is disabled, it may take time to display the multifunction printer screen.
Notes and restrictions about Sending File to netprint
- Sending files to netprint is only supported by tenants in Japan.
- When enabling this feature, please well-known to the user of this service about the terms and conditions (Japanese only).
- About netprint, please check here.
- You cannot send PDF version 1.2 files (created by Acrobat version 3.0).
- When using the "Basic" user of netprint, you can only use "Select Later" as the setting for "2 Sided".
Notes and restrictions about Sending File to Public Print
- Sending files to Public Print is only supported by tenants in Japan.
- When enabling this feature, please well-known to the user of this service about the terms and conditions (PDF file).

Restrictions about MFD with accounting or authentication devices
- You will be automatically logged out if the balance becomes zero or insufficient during printing.
- For MFDs released after April 2021, you can use Coin Casher or IC Card Casher for payment and IC Card Reader for authentication at the same time. In that case, you should use local authentification on MFDs, network authentification and custom authentification are not supported yet. Coin Casher and IC Card Cashier can not be installed at the same time, and it is currently not possible to pay with e-money. If you want to use this function, you may need to update the firmware of the MFD.
Restrictions about single sign-on on MFDs
- When linking the [Device's User ID] to the user, please confirm that the Device's User ID is only used by the user for authentication of the MFD. If other person can use the same Device's User ID for authentication of the MFD, other person can also print the document.
- If you enable [Auto Login Next Time], make sure no one else has the same device user ID. If others can also use the same user ID to authenticate the complex, others will be able to print the document. Everyone who has access to the equipment by the machine manager will be able to print the same document, especially if the combined machine is in unauthenticated mode and the machine manager can enable [Auto Login Next Time].
Notes and Restrictions Regarding Service Users
- If you delete a service user from a tenant in FUJIFILM BI Direct, the print jobs and user settings of the deleted user are also deleted. However, print jobs with [Privacy] set to [Shared] when uploading the file are not deleted.
Notes and Restrictions about Permission Group Management
- If a user group in FUJIFILM BI Direct is deleted, the print permission group will also be deleted.
