Confirming the Network Settings of the Device and PC

This section describes how to configure a device to communicate with a cloud environment.

  • Ensure that these settings are always enabled while using FUJIFILM IWpro, not only during device setup.
  • Make sure that the network administrator confirms the settings.

Overview

To use FUJIFILM IWpro, it is necessary to configure the network settings required to connect to the server.
You can check the link for the URL of the server to connect to.
What are the URLs that may be accessed when using FUJIFILM IWpro

The following three items must be configured.

  • Network environment of the customer (proxy server and firewall settings)
  • Device for using FUJIFILM IWpro
  • Computer to run FUJIFILM IWpro Device Setup

Configuring the Network Environment of the Customer (Proxy Server and Firewall Settings)

When a proxy server and/or firewall are set, configure the following items for connecting to the server used by FUJIFILM IWpro.
These items are required in a typical environment, but they may not be required or other settings may be required instead, depending on the network environment of the customer.
These settings do not need to be configured if a proxy server or firewall are not configured.

Item Process
Access control/connection restrictions for the proxy or firewall Register the URL of the FUJIFILM IWpro cloud server to the whitelist
SSL inspection decryption for the proxy or firewall Exclude SSL inspection decryption for the URL of the FUJIFILM IWpro cloud server

Confirming/Configuring the Network Settings of the Device and PC

Configure the device settings according to the network environment of the customer, so that the device can communicate with the server used by FUJIFILM IWpro and the computer running FUJIFILM IWpro Device Setup.

Follow one of the following procedures to confirm/configure the network settings.

Confirming/Configuring Settings in Internet Services

If you know the IP address of the device and can use Internet Services, use this method to confirm and configure the settings.

      • To disable SNMP v1/v2 and enable SNMP v3 only, also enable the printer driver account.

Confirming/Configuring Settings on the Device Control Panel

If you do know the IP address of the device and cannot use Internet Services, use this method to confirm and configure the settings.
Make a note of the device IP address, as it will be used for configuring settings later.

  • The procedure differs according to the model of the device. For details, see the manual of the device.
  1. Log in to the device as the system administrator.
  2. Tap [image].
  3. Confirm the settings of the various items.
    IP Address
    1. Tap [Device Status].
    2. Make a note of the IP address in a program such as Notepad.
    DNS Settings
Confirm these settings if they have been changed from their default values.
    1. Tap [Settings] > [Network Settings] > [Protocol Settings] > [TCP/IP - Network Settings] > [IPv4 - DNS Server Setup].
    2. Confirm the following settings.

  • A device can have both a primary port and secondary port, but the Internet connection route and computer connection route must use the primary port.
    • Device plug-ins related to FUJIFILM IWpro Device Setup cannot communicate via the secondary network of a device. Therefore, when executing FUJIFILM IWpro Device Setup, both the communication route between the device and the Internet and the communication route between the device and the computer must be connected to the primary network of the device.
    • For example, if the device and computer are connected via a wired LAN (Ethernet 1) and the device and the Internet are connected via WiFi, either Ethernet 1 or WiFi will be considered the secondary port, and FUJIFILM IWpro Device Setup will not be able to finish executing.
    • Use Internet Services to specify the primary network of the device. Note that settings for the primary network are only displayed if a secondary network is enabled.
For the Apeos series: [Network] > [Ethernet] > [Primary Network]
For the ApeosPort series: [Properties] tab > [Network Settings] > [Protocols] > [TCP/IP] > [Common Settings] > [Primary Network]

Configuring the Computer to Run FUJIFILM IWpro Device Setup

Configure the computer settings according to the network environment of the customer, so that the device can communicate with the server used by FUJIFILM IWpro and the device using FUJIFILM IWpro Device Setup.
