Operation Restrictions Caused by Web Browser's Protected Mode and Workarounds

The following describes the restrictions that apply when the protected mode is enabled in Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge (Internet Explorer mode), and how to work around them.

Operational restrictions

  • You cannot use the Viewer Control's edit mode.
  • When opening documents protected by a password, you cannot use the feature to temporarily store the password. Password entry is required at all times when opening the password-protected document.
  • You cannot display documents protected by Electronic Signatures.
  • You cannot configure settings for Digital Certificates.
  • You cannot display documents protected by Digital Certificates.
  • You cannot verify the signature.
  • You cannot specify the desired folder in [Temporary File Folder Setting] of [DocuWorks Personal Settings].
  • You must configure pertinent settings in [DocuWorks Viewer Control Options] individually depending on the protected mode is enabled or disabled.
  • You must configure pertinent settings in Viewer Control print settings individually depending on the protected mode is enabled or disabled.
  • License checking, registration of license usage information, and version registration are not performed.

Disabling the protected mode

Temporarily disable the protected mode in Windows [Internet Options], or download DocuWorks files and then open them in Viewer or Viewer Light.
