[Signature Properties] dialog box
This dialog box appears when you select [Properties] from the pop-up menu which is displayed by right-clicking the signature attached to a document. This dialog box shows the properties of a signature. The properties displayed depend upon the signature module being used. This topic describes the properties related to Digital Certificates. You cannot edit these properties.
[Verification status]
Shows the status in which a signature was verified.
[Signature modules]
The name of the signature module you are using is displayed.
[Signer]
To whom the certificate used for signature was issued ("Issued To") is displayed.
[Certification Authority]
By whom the certificate used for signature was issued ("Issued By") is displayed.
[Date of writing signature]
Indicates the date and time when the signature was made.
[Remarks]
If a signature is attached with remarks, its contents appear.
[Certificate Attributes]
Displays the information about the certificate used for the signature. You can confirm the "Issued to", "Issued by", its expiration date, and serial number.
[Register Certificate]
Allows you to register the certificate that was used for the signature with [Other People] in the Windows Certificate Manager. If the certificate has been issued by an intermediate Certification Authority, register the certificate to the [Intermediate Certification Authorities] tab. When [Verification status] is "Validity Unknown" or "Invalid", you cannot register the certificate. Certificates registered in the [Other People] of Windows Certificates can be used when setting security by Digital Certificate.
Note
[Date of writing signature] shows the date set up on your PC on which signing was done. Therefore, validity of signing date is not strictly verified.
