Uploading to Working Folder
The following explains how to upload a folder or document to Working Folder.
The following methods are provided.
- Uploading by Dragging and Dropping
- Uploading by Copying and Pasting
- Uploading by Using the Pop-up Menu
You can upload only documents when you choose Uploading by Using the Pop-up Menu.
Note
- Only DocuWorks documents(.xdw), DocuWorks binders(.xbd), and PDF files(.pdf) can be uploaded to a Secure Drawer.
- The uploaded folders and subfolders inherit the permission setting of the destination folder.
- Depending on the [Operation when uploading the document] setting in the [Extended Folder for Working Folder Options] dialog box, either the [Convert application file] dialog box or the [Import Image File(s)] dialog box appears.
- If a folder with the same name already exists, your folder will be uploaded with a name consisting of the original folder name plus a suffix "-{sequence number starting from 2}" like "{original folder name}-2" and "{original folder name}-3".
If a document with the same name already exists, the system will behave according to the [Operation When Dropping/Pasting the File with Same Name] settings in the [Extended Folder for Working Folder Setting] dialog box.
Uploading by Dragging and Dropping
Uploading from Windows Explorer or the Desktop
Procedure
1.
In the workspace area *1, display the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder.
2.
Drag and drop the folder or document to upload from Windows Explorer or the Desktop to the workspace area.
The folder or document is uploaded.
When [Convert to DocuWorks document and upload] is selected in the [Extended Folder for Working Folder Options] dialog box, you can simply drag and drop application files and image files into the destination location to convert them to DocuWorks documents before they are uploaded.
Uploading from the Workspace Area
The following explains how to upload a folder or document displayed in the workspace area to Working Folder by dragging and dropping.
The following folders are targeted.

- Mailbox Extended Folder
Procedure
1.
In the folder area, display the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder.
2.
In the workspace area, display the folder or document to upload.
3.
Drag and drop the folder or document to upload to the upload destination displayed in Step 1.
The folder or document is uploaded.
When [Convert to DocuWorks document and upload] is selected in the [Extended Folder for Working Folder Options] dialog box, you can simply drag and drop application files and image files, from the workspace area where items in User Folder or Link Folder are being displayed into the destination location, to convert the files to DocuWorks documents before they are uploaded.
Uploading from the Folder Area
The following explains how to upload a folder that is displayed in the folder area to Working Folder by dragging and dropping.
The following folders are targeted. From within the folder area, only folders can be uploaded.

When the upload destination is being displayed in the folder area, uploading from the folder area with drag-and-drop can be done.
When the upload destination is being displayed in the workspace area, uploading with drag-and-drop cannot be done.
In this case, use copy-and-paste to perform uploading.

Steps
1.
In the folder area, display the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder.
2.
In the folder area, display the folder to upload.
3.
Drag and drop the folder to upload to the upload destination displayed in Step 1.
The folder is uploaded.
Uploading by Copying and Pasting
The following explains how to upload a folder or document to Working Folder by copying and pasting.
You cannot copy or paste from the following extended folders.
You cannot copy or paste from the following extended folders.
- Neighborhood Desks
- Mailbox Extended Folder
Procedure
1.
Select the folder or document to upload using DocuWorks Desk, Windows Explorer or the like. You can select multiple folders or documents as well.
2.
Perform a copy operation such as pressing the <Ctrl>+<C> keys.
3.
Perform either of the following operations.
- In the folder area, select the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder.
- In the workspace area, open the contents in the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder, and then click on the workspace area.
4.
Perform a paste operation (Ex.: pressing the <Ctrl>+<V> keys).
The folder or document is uploaded.
Uploading by Using the Pop-up Menu
The following explains how to upload a document using the pop-up menu displayed by right-clicking the icon of the upload destination drawer or folder on the Working Folder.
Steps
1.
Perform one of the following operations.
- In the folder area, right-click the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder.
- In the workspace area, right-click the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder. (*1)
- In the folder area, select the upload destination drawer or folder in Working Folder, and then right-click on the workspace area.
2.
Select [Upload Document] from the pop-up menu.
The [Upload Document] dialog box is displayed.
3.
Specify the document to upload and click [Open].
