- When PDF/A or PDF/X is selected, the use of security functions is prohibited.
- When PDF/X is selected, the JBIG2 compression becomes unavailable. Change the compression method, if necessary.
- Even when [Standards Compliance:] is set to PDF/A or PDF/X; if [Append the PDF File to the Existing PDF File] is selected for [Setting When File Already Exists] and the destination folder already has a file with the same name as the PDF file to be created; the PDF file will be saved in the same format as the existing file.

PDF/A-1b is a standard that conforms to ISO 19005-1 partially, and is based on the PDF 1.4 specification. This format is suitable for the long-term preservation of electronic documents.
PDF/A-2b is a standard that conforms to ISO 19005-2 partially, and is based on the PDF 1.7 specification. This format is suitable for the long-term preservation of electronic documents.
PDF/A-4 is a standard that conforms to ISO 19005-4 partially, and is based on the PDF 2.0 specification. This format is suitable for the long-term preservation of electronic documents.
PDF/A-2b is a standard that conforms to ISO 19005-2 partially, and is based on the PDF 1.7 specification. This format is suitable for the long-term preservation of electronic documents.
PDF/A-4 is a standard that conforms to ISO 19005-4 partially, and is based on the PDF 2.0 specification. This format is suitable for the long-term preservation of electronic documents.
When [PDF/A-1b], [PDF/A-2b], or [PDF/A-4] have been selected, the following functions cannot be set.
- Adding security (Security tab)
- When PDF/A-1b is selected, setting JPEG2000 as the compression method for color/grayscale images (Compression Options tab)
- When PDF/A-1b is selected, setting the watermark opacity level to a value other than 100% (Watermark tab)

PDF/X-1a (2001) and PDF/X-1a (2003)
PDF/X-1a conforms to ISO 15930 and facilitates exchanging data for print and exchanging graphics. Set [Standards Compliance:] to PDF/X-1a (2001) or (2003).

Device RGB is unavailable, and Device CMYK is applied.
[Document Information]
A provisional text string is entered when [Title] on the [Document] tab of this product is empty.
[Font]
All fonts are embedded when all fonts are not set to be embedded on the [Embed Fonts] tab. The [When Not Compliant] setting is applied when un-embeddable fonts are detected.

When [PDF/X-1a(2001)] or [PDF/X-1a(2003)] is selected, the following functions cannot be set.

When situations of the following sorts are automatically detected during processing, you will be unable to generate a PDF that conforms to the specified standard.
- Embed-prohibited fonts are used
- No ICC profile is found in the install destination
