[Save in Unicode format]

When saved with this check box selected: Any document names are saved as Unicode characters.
When saved with this check box cleared: Any document names are saved in multi-byte codes. If those names contain Unicode characters that cannot be represented in multi-byte codes, a confirmation message appears telling you that some characters are getting garbled. When you click [OK], those characters are replaced with question mark "?".
Note
  • Documents with Unicode characters become Ver.7 documents.
  • When there is a binder where every document name consists of multi-byte codes only, if you modify/add some document names in the binder so that they contain characters other than alphanumerics, the check box is dimmed. If you save the binder with the check box dimmed, it results in a binder containing documents whose names have a mixture of Unicode characters and multi-byte codes characters.
