[Find] dialog box
This dialog box appears when you select [Find] from the [Edit] menu.
Use this dialog box to enter a character string for finding body text or text annotations of a document.

[Text]
Enter the character string to search for. You can specify multiple character strings by delimiting them with spaces. If multiple character strings are specified, you can search documents containing any of the specified character strings. A character string cannot exceed 255 characters including delimiting spaces. Special characters such as carriage return and tab cannot be used.
Note
- To search for a character string containing spaces, place double quotation marks (") before and after the character string.
- If you want to search for a text string containing a double quotation mark ("), a back slash (\), or a space, precede the mark or character with a back slash.
- If a text string has been searched before, the result of the last search is displayed.
[Target]
[Text of application page]
Specify whether to treat texts of pages created from application as a target. If you select this check box, it will become the target of the search.

[Text as a result of OCR]
Specify whether to treat texts of pages that are OCR-processed images as a target. If you select this check box, it will become the target of the search.

[Text annotation]
Specify whether to treat text annotations as a target. If you select this check box, it will become the target of the search.

Note
- The following items and the following instances are excluded from the search.
- A text string that spans multiple pages
- Headers and footers specified in Viewer
- Image documents that are not OCR-processed
- Application pages which text cannot be recognized as selectable text
- Application pages which text is recognized as an image or an object, not as selectable text
- When the search target text is broken up by line feed
- Documents which are not properly OCR-processed
- Documents which are printed with text in different order compare to what is displayed on the screen
- If an annotation is searched while it is not displayed, only the pages with the searched text annotations will be displayed but the text annotation cannot be selected.
[Ignore case]
Determines whether or not to match capitalization of the text. When the check box is selected, the search will be performed without matching the capitalization of the text.

[Find Previous]
Continue the search over contents up to the position of the cursor in the document based on the search conditions that you specified.
[Find Next]
Closes the dialog box and the search is performed in accordance with the specified search conditions.
Note
To continue with the same search conditions, either select [Find Next] from the [Edit] menu or press the <F3> key.
[Cancel]
Cancels the settings and closes the dialog box.
