[Security Settings - Password (256bit V8 or later/128bit V5 or later/56bit V4 or later)] dialog box
This dialog box appears when you select [Password] (256bit V8 or later, 128bit V5 or later, or 56bit V4 or later) from the [Security Module Options] dialog box.
Use this dialog box to limit four types of operation for document by setting a password. You can set it in full access mode.
There are four types of operation restrictions in the security settings. A document that is limited of any one of its operations is called a protected document.

You can set whether or not to prohibit the editing of documents other than the annotations.
By default, this check box is cleared.
When this box is selected, you cannot perform the following operations.

- Insert a document into a binder / insert a new document into a binder / delete a document from a binder

[Prohibit annotation editing]
Prohibits editing of annotations.
By default, this check box is cleared.
If you select this check box, the following operations cannot be performed for annotation:

- Copy to all pages after next

- Paste (by dragging-and-dropping) from outside of Viewer
- Crop image
- Write Signature and Save As

- Even if annotation editing is prohibited, the following operations can still be performed:
- Jump from the link target of a link annotation
- Switch on or off the links of all linked annotations
- Though annotation editing is prohibited, if the OLE annotation is linked to a file and is not displayed as an icon, the change made in the link source is reflected in the view of the OLE annotation.
[Prohibit printing]
Prohibits printing. If you select this box, printing and print preview cannot be performed. By default, this box is cleared.
[Prohibit copying]
Prohibits copying of document contents. By default, this check box is cleared.
When this box is selected, you cannot perform the following operations.

- Move by dragging to outside of document
- Copy annotation to all pages starting from the next page
- Extract original data

[Open password]
Specify a password to open a protected document. A password cannot exceed 255 alphanumeric and symbols.
[Full access password]
Specify a password to change security settings.
[Comment]
Enter character string to be added to protected documents.
Use this as a guide for the password to be entered when opening protected documents.
The character strings entered here appears in the [Password] dialog box displayed when opening protected documents and when displaying the thumbnail of protected documents, as well as in the [Password] dialog box displayed when accessing the full access mode. The text cannot exceed 1,000 characters.

[Set]
Sets security. If you click [Set] when the password has been specified, the [Password Confirmation] dialog box appears.
[Delete]
Removes the security settings. When you click the button, you will be prompted by a message.
Note
- The settings specified in the Viewer are applied to the document when you save that document. When the document is closed without saving, the security settings are not applied to it.
- If the same document is open in another Viewer while you set or deleted security to it in Viewer, the setting will not be reflected in the document in the former Viewer.
[Cancel]
Cancels the settings and closes the dialog box.
