[Mixed Setting of Vertical and Horizontal Orientation] dialog box
This dialog box appears when you click [Mixed setting of vertical and horizontal orientation] in the [Page Layout] dialog box.
Use this dialog box to specify how to lay out when there are both portrait and landscape pages. The preview is displayed according to the setting.

Specifies how to lay out when there are both portrait and landscape pages.
The default setting is [Automatic (based on the first page)].

Lays out based on the orientation of the first page. If the first page is in portrait, portrait is preferred. When landscape, lay out preferring landscape. The pages of different orientation from the basic will be rotated by 90 degrees right or left, or reduced to fit width (when portrait is preferred) or fit height (when landscape is preferred), depending on the setting of [Rotation in a way other than the default setting]. - [Priority in portrait (Based on vertically oriented page)]
Lays out based on portrait orientation. The landscape pages will be rotated by 90 degrees right or left, or reduced to fit width, depending on the setting of [Rotation in a way other than the default setting]. - [Priority in landscape (Based on horizontally oriented page)]
Lays out based on landscape orientation. The portrait pages will be rotated by 90 degrees right or left, or reduced to fit height, depending on the setting of [Rotation in a way other than the default setting].
[Rotation in a way other than the default setting]
Specifies whether to rotate pages whose orientation is different from that of the basic orientation or to reduce their size to fit width or height without rotating.
The default is [Rotate counter-clockwise by 90 degrees].

Reduces the pages to fit width (when portrait is preferred) or height (when landscape is preferred) to co-exist the portrait and landscape pages without rotating them.
Note
Any pages with annotations of Link, OLE, Date Stamp, Received Stamp, Title, Date/Time, Cloud Callout, or a grouped annotation pasted cannot be rotated automatically, and therefore even if you select the option to lay out non-basic pages by rotating, those pages will be laid out with no rotation applied.
