User Folder
Q.1
To which Windows directories do user folders in Desk and user definition folders (sub-folders created by the user) correspond?
A.1
You can see their directory path in the [Folder Property] dialog box in Desk. The default setting for the user folder path is "C:\Users\{Log in User Name}\Documents\FUJIFILM\DocuWorks\DWFolders\".
Q.2
After installing DocuWorks, can I change the user folder directory?

Q.3
How can I make a backup of the user folder and user definition folder directories?
A.3
Copy and store the user folder in the Desk folder, together with all its subfolders, to a removable media. To restore the data, copy them back in the "User Folder" under the directory specified the Desk folder after re-installation of DocuWorks.
Data in the user definition folder is backed up at the same time.
Data in the user definition folder is backed up at the same time.
Q.4
In the DocuWorks user folder, "dwdesk. ibm" and "dwdesk. idw" files appear when viewed with the Windows Explorer. These files are large. Can they be deleted?
A.4
These files keep information necessary for managing and viewing DocuWorks documents in the DocuWorks Desk. Do not delete or copy them to another directory. If deleted, information about linked connections, file properties, and thumbnail positions will be lost.
Q.5
When I close the user folder, a message "Insufficient disk space. Some information may not be saved." appears. What does it mean and how can I solve the problem?
A.5
In Desk, the tree display in the folder area, the thumbnail cache on Desk, and the thumbnail positions are stored in two management files, dwdesk. idw and dwdesk. ibm. When the available disk space for the user folder is not enough, the management information cannot be updated, causing this message to appear. This message also appears when you have restored data from backup removable media such as CD-R and therefore the "read-only" attribute has been set to the management files. In this case, clear the "read-only" attribute of the management files under each folder.
