Editing Documents
Q.1
Are "Rotate" and "Deskew" operation possible on all DocuWorks documents?
A.1
"Rotate" is possible in documents that do not have annotations of Link, OLE, Date Stamp, Received Stamp, Title, Date/Time, Cloud Callout, or a grouped annotation pasted.
Q.2
Is a text search possible on any DocuWorks documents?
A.2
You can conduct a search on text created from applications, text included in documents that have been created from images and that have been processed by OCR, text annotations, headers / footers (only in Desk), received stamp annotations, and date stamp annotations.
However, search may not be normally performed in such cases when the characters are represented not as fonts but images or graphic data, when the configuration of text string differs from what is seen on the screen, or when the OCR result includes errors.
This problem occurs not only when performing search in Desk or Viewer, but also when executing the "Find and Mark" plug-in. Similarly, when selecting text or obtaining character strings using the DocuWorks APIs, you may not able to obtain text or the order of characters may be different.

Q.3
When I overwrite and save a DocuWorks document after deletion of some pages or annotations of the document, I sometimes find the resulting file size the same as before. Why does this happen?
A.3
In DocuWorks, internally unnecessary data may not be removed immediately if the deleted portion of data is small in size, for the purpose of faster document update processing speed. The file can be updated to its optimum file size by performing [Save As] or the process pages plug-in.
Q.4
How do I rotate stacked documents all at one time?
A.4
Select a document file in Desk, then select [Right 90 degrees], [Left 90 degrees], or [180 degrees] for [Rotate] on the [Edit] menu.
Or, right-click the document file, then select [Right 90 degrees], [Left 90 degrees], or [180 degrees] for [Rotate] on the pop-up menu.

Q.5
How do I extract a specific page from stacked documents? Furthermore, how do I insert the extracted page at a specific page of another stacked document?
A.5
Display the page you want to extract as a thumbnail of the document, then select [Extract Front Page] or [Duplicate Front Page] from the [Edit] menu. You can also right-click the mouse on the document, then select [Extract Front Page] or [Duplicate Front Page] from the pop-up menu.
Display the page where you want to insert the page you copied or extracted. Drag-and-drop the page you want to insert to the document where you want it.
You can also insert the page in the sorter view of the destination document in Viewer.
