Creating or Deleting a Folder
You can create or delete a folder in the folder area.
Creating a new folder
New folders can be created in the user folder and in link root folder.
The created folder is called the "definition folder".

Procedure
1.
Select [New] from the [File] menu, then select [Folder].
A new folder is created in the folder you open currently.

Enter a name for the folder and press the <Enter> key.
The name is applied to the folder. The new folder inherits the color of its parent folder. You can change this color, if necessary.
Note
- The following characters cannot be used in folder names:
\ / : * ? " < > | - The first character of a folder name cannot be a space.
- The last character of a folder name cannot be a space or a period (.).
- The name of a user definition folder or a link root folder, including the path name, is limited to 244 characters. The maximum number of characters you can use for a file name in a link root folder varies depending on the operating system of the link target computer.
- Numbers of folders and folder levels that can be created depend on the limitations of Windows.
Deleting a user definition folder
Procedure
1.
Select the user definition folder you want to delete, then select [Delete] from the [Edit] menu.
The folder is moved to the recycle bin of Desk.
If the folder contains any files or sub-folders, a confirmation message appears asking if you really want to delete them.

Click [Yes] to delete them. To cancel, click [No].
If you click [Yes], the folder is moved to the recycle bin.
Important
- In the following cases, the folder is not moved to the recycle bin but deleted immediately.
- If you delete the folder by pressing <Shift> + <Delete> keys after selecting it
- If you set the Trash Bin not to be used in the preferences of Desk.
