Using NotePad Annotations

Texts, rectangles, ellipses, polygons, lines, free hand drawings, diagrams, received stamps, date stamps, and bitmaps can be pasted on a notepad annotation.
You can also align notepad annotations to the right in a document.
This topic describes the following:

Pasting a notepad annotation

A notepad annotation can be pasted even if it does not fit in a page.
Procedure
1.
Select notepad annotation from the [Tool] menu or the notepad annotation button in the annotation toolbar in Viewer. For example, select [NotePad/Light Blue/with Text] from [1 Basic].
The cursor changes to the shape of cross.
2.
When [Decide shape when pasting] is selected
When [Decide shape when pasting] is selected, drag the cursor across the page or workspace to specify the size of the notepad.

When [Decide shape when pasting] is cleared
To paste a notepad annotation with the registered shape, click on a desired position in the page or workspace.

Changing the properties

Using the [NotePad Properties] dialog box or the property toolbar, you can change the size and color after pasting a notepad.
Note
You can view a list of notepad annotations pasted to a document or a binder in the [NotePad/Link List] tab of InfoView.

Arranging notepad annotations

You can set index notepads and align them to the right in a document.
Note
  • You can set index notepads when the [Set as Index NotePad] is selected on the [Advanced] tab in the [NotePad Properties] dialog.
  • Only unfixed index notepads can be aligned.
  • For binders, index notepads are aligned in sequential page order.
  • They cannot be aligned when annotations are hidden.

Setting index notepads

Procedure
1.
Select [Index NotePad Alignment] from [NotePad Alignment] in the [Annotation] menu.
The [Index NotePad Settings] dialog box appears.
2.
Set the alignment position, and set the notepads to be aligned as index notepads.
3.
Click [OK].
The [Index NotePad Settings] dialog box closes and the settings are saved.

Aligning index notepads

Procedure
1.
Select [Index NotePad Alignment] from [NotePad Alignment] in the [Annotation] menu.
Index notepads are aligned to the right in a document, from top to bottom in order of page number. If index notepads reach the bottom of the document, the rest are displayed from the top again.
Note
If all notepads cannot be displayed on a page when aligned according to the settings of the [Index NotePad Settings] dialog box, the processing ends without aligning them. Organize your notepads and check the index notepad settings before alignment.
