[Batch Change File Names] dialog box
This dialog box appears when you drag and drop the [Batch Change File Names] button into the toolbar or task toolbar, or when you right-click the icon and select [Properties].
Note
- The following characters cannot be used in file or folder names:
¥ / : * ? " < > | - You cannot start a file name with space.
Naming Rules for File Names
Specify whether to change the current file name according to the naming rules that have been set or delete the current file name and rename the file to a new name.
[Change current file name back to the original]
Renames a file according to the following settings.
When you select both [Replace string] and [Add string], the specified string will be replaced and then the specified string will be added.
When you select both [Replace string] and [Add string], the specified string will be replaced and then the specified string will be added.
[Replace string]
Replaces the specified string in the file name.
- [String to replace]
Enter the string to be replaced. You can enter a maximum of 260 characters. - [String after replacement]
Enter the string to replace the existing one. You can enter a maximum of 260 characters. - [Case sensitive]
Replaces the string in a case-sensitive manner.
[Add string]
Adds the specified string or date and time to the beginning or the end of the file name.
- [String]
Adds a string. You can enter a maximum of 260 characters. - [Date/Time]
Adds the date and time. Select a date format. The default setting is [yy/mm/dd]. - [Position to add]
Select [Add to the beginning] or [Add to the end]. - [Delimiter]
Select a delimiter to use between the file name and the string or date and time to be added. The default setting is [- (hyphen)]. - [Preview]
Displays the file name with the string or date and time added.Note"/" and ":" in the date-time format are forbidden characters and will not be added to the file name.

・Date and time: January 2, 2025, 3:40
・Date-time format: yyyy/mm/dd/hh:mm
・Delimiter: - (hyphen)
・Preview: 202501020340- (file name)
[Clear current file name and set a new one]
Enter a new file name.
[When the changed file name is duplicated, assign a sequential number to avoid duplication]
If the changed file name is the same as an existing file name, a delimiter and a serial number are appended to the file name. The delimiter follows the preferences.
If a file name collision occurs when this box is cleared, the processing will be aborted.

[Display confirmation dialog for target file before execution]
Displays a list of target files in the [Batch Change File Names] dialog box at run time. By default, this box is cleared.
