Operation Screen

Selecting a file to which you want to give attributes in DocuWorks Desk, and clicking [Document Property Entry (Edit Attributes)] on the toolbar displays the operation screen.
By selecting multiple files, and clicking [Document Property Entry (Edit Attributes)] on the toolbar, you can give attributes to the files, and classify and register them, one by one.
Note
When [Document preview confirmation when registering attributes] is set to [Off] in [Preferences], giving attributes to and registering documents are done automatically without showing an operation screen.

Document view

The selected file is displayed.
There are features such as "Copy Image," "Scrolling Mode" and "Text Selecting Mode" available.
Note
  • If you select a binder, the binder index toolbar appears, listing the names of the documents contained in the binder. Selecting a document from the list displays the first page of the document.
  • If you select a DocuWorks container, the content of the documents in it cannot be displayed.
  • Besides using icons, operations can also be done using the right-click shortcut menu.

Attribute information

Attributes given to the selected file are displayed.
Note
  • You can edit document types, attribute names, types, and input values that are not set in the [Preferences] dialog box.
  • Up to 50 attributes can be displayed. If the document is given more than 50 attributes, they are not displayed on the operation screen, but they remain given to the document.
  • If the document is given a document type or attributes that are not set in the [Preferences] dialog box, that document type and those attributes are displayed.
  • If only attributes are given to the document, only those attributes are displayed.
  • If the document is given a document type that is set in the [Preferences] dialog box, the document type and attributes, as well as the attributes that are set in the [Preferences] dialog box are displayed.
  • The document type and attributes given to the document are displayed first.
  • [View Settings] is displayed only when the [Enable View Settings] check box is selected in the [Preferences] dialog box.
Item Description
[Document Type]
Select a document type from the pulldown menu.
Attributes defined for the selected document type are displayed.
Paste in input field (Paste in input field)
Clicking this button allows you to paste the copied text into the input field.
[Attribute Name]
Attributes that are given to the document, as well as the attributes that are set in the [Preferences] dialog box are displayed.
Any attribute you must enter the value in the [Input Field] are marked with an asterisk (*).
If attributes are given to a PDF file, up to 127 characters are displayed.
[Type]
Displays the type of the attribute.
[Input Field]
Displays the default values for the attribute you set. To change the value, enter or select a new value.
The default value of an attribute that is protected from being editing cannot be changed.
If the field is blank, the attribute will not be set.
[View Settings]
Displays buttons for saving the document display position, zoom ratio and page count.
Press the button to save the document display position, zoom ratio and page count for that attribute.
The next time you select the attribute, the saved display settings are applied.
If the [Save] button is displayed, the current display settings have not yet been saved.
If the [Overwrite] button is displayed, the current display settings have been saved. The settings can be further overwritten.

Image Information

Displays information about the image, such as the resolution of the selected file.
If the selected file consists of more than one page, information on the image of the top page is displayed. These fields are blank when the [Show image information] check box is cleared in [Preferences], or information cannot be retrieved.

Author information

Displays information on the user who handles the operation. You can collapse this section with the [+] button to expand the attribute view.

Destination Information

Displays the destination folder the files classified based on the document type will be registered with, the name with which the files are registered, and buttons for operating the file. You can collapse this section with the [+] button to expand the attribute view.
Item Description
[Specified Folder]
If you selected [Register to folder] in [Registration Destination Settings], the top-level folder in the hierarchy of folders the classified files will be registered with is displayed.
Under this folder, folders are created based on the hierarchy defined according to the document types.
If you selected [Register to Working Folder] in [Registration Destination Settings], the URL of the folder the classified files will be registered with is displayed.
If you selected [Register to folder] or [Register to Working Folder] in both of [Registration 1] and [Registration 2], the registration destination specified for [Registration 2] is displayed in [Specified Folder 2].
This item is not displayed when [Register to tray] is selected in [Destination settings].
[Subfolder]
Displays the hierarchical level of the destination folder that is set according to the document type.
This item is not displayed when [Register to tray] is selected in [Destination settings].
[Tray Name]
The registered tray name is displayed when [Register to tray] is selected in [Destination settings].
If you selected [Register to tray] in both of [Registration 1] and [Registration 2], the registration destination specified for [Registration 2] is displayed for [Tray Name 2].
If you selected [Register to folder] or [Register to Working Folder] in [Destination settings], this item is not displayed.
[File Name]
Displays the file name that is set according to the document type.
If a file with the same name already exists in the registration destination, a new file is registered in the following manner:
  • If the registration destination is a folder or DocuWorks Tray
    A new file is registered with a sub number assigned according to the settings in DocuWorks Desk.
  • If the registration destination is Working Folder
    A new file is registered with a name according to the settings in Working Folder.
[Number of files processed]
If you selected more than one file, the field displays the number of files that have been given attributes and classified based on the attributes, in the format of [number of files processed/total number of tiles].
[Register]
Gives attributes to the file, and classifies and registers it with the folder associated with the document type.
If you selected more than one file, press this button to exit the current file and display the next one.
If the document type given to the document is not set in [Document Type] in the [Preferences] dialog box, the file name is not changed. In addition, the file is not classified into any folder.
For the attribute name of a PDF file, up to 127 characters (bytes) can be registered. Attribute names exceeding 127 characters cannot be registered.
[Skip]
Exits the operation screen without giving attributes or classifying the file.
[Save]
Gives attributes to the file and saves the file, without classifying the file.
[Exit]
Exits the operation screen without giving attributes or classifying the file.
